RADICAL NEW CONCEPT
A revolutionary new concept in Camera Glider/Slider technology, the MYT CURVI-GLIDE radically redefines the concept of linear motion and takes it to a whole new level. Now, any combination of coupled linear and spiral motion allows for infinite curved motions and patterns. This effectively renders obsolete the use of a tripod head and opens a whole new realm of camera motion in a single tool. This revolutionary Glide does not require any special setup, can be used at any angle, and frees the operator from the traditional limitations of Fluid Heads mounted on camera Slider tracks.
PAN, TILT AND GLIDE
In current Camera Dolly Glider/Sliders, the operator needs to think twice before he or she makes a move. The operator must consider the frame itself, the pan and tilt action on the fluid head that will be needed to accomplish the move, and the linear motion that will complete the sequence. In fact, one must think spatially in tri-axis terms, which is not easily accomplished, particularly when the two-axis head move, pan and tilt, is complicated. In short, three separate motions on two separate devices must be thought of individually and in concert in order to accomplish the move. The pan and the tilt actions are conducted through the fluid head, the linear action through the Slider/Glider.
The MYT CURVI-GLIDE changes all of that and far more. It brings the natural feel of motion back to camera-work, where previously there had solely been inconvenient conventions. The separate head is rendered obsolete by this revolutionary new design. There is the heart of the device, called the vessel, which accomplishes linear motion and tilting naturally since it is built into the structure of the system itself.
TRUST YOUR EYES
This is a radically new concept, akin to a sort of Nodal Linear Camera dolly. The moves are also far more beautiful and natural to the eyes and human perception since they mimic what a Nodal and Worral head would accomplish on a traditional dolly. At the heart of the MYT Vessel design lies a tilting and panning action very close to the optical axis of the camera. This is one of the most important aspects of this new technology and is something that has never been achieved before.
Unlike traditional Sliders, the design of the MYT CURVI-GLIDE relies on 3 rails perfectly aligned in a triangular trussing pattern and sandwiched between 2 Slewing ring bearings. The bearings are capped with both a locking and variable resistance adjustment knob as well as numerous mounting options, including 5/8 studs, 1/4 20 and 3/8' tapped holes. The MYT CURVI-GLIDE can be mounted on and between two lights stands, with a light stand/tripod combination, or on any device capable of supporting a traditional camera or grip support system.
At the heart of the system is the tri-level carriage, the MYT Vessel, an innovative design never seen before in Glider/Slider Camera dollies. In this system, the camera itself is mounted on a one-latch release platform. This platform locks onto a rotating bearing that is an integral part of the Vessel strung between the rails while gliding on our 6 patented linear bearings. This design allows for an amazing new way of controlling a camera along a linear axis that can be positioned at any angle.
While pushing or pulling the Vessel, the operator can pan and tilt freely in one gesture with an unprecedented 360 degree range. There is unlimited human motion control over the camera field of view. As an example of this new technology, imagine panning, tilting up and moving forward at the same time while going from an object on the ground and ending on a bird in the sky. This type of shot is now possible without the use of a very heavy and cumbersome system. Another example: mounted vertically, a 360 degree shoot, while going up or down, walking around the MYT CURVI-GLIDE.
The Vesselís shape allows for variable pressure contact on all three tracks at all angles. The operator can seamlessly turn and motion via our patented sleeve/wheel bearing technology. The weight of the camera naturally allows for pressure to be exerted on any of the 3 bearings at all times and transfer the weight load in perfect synchronicity as the MYT CURVI-GLIDE spirals forward linearly. This is also the case without linear motion - horizontal, vertical, and even underslung positioning allow for the same curvilinear motion. Linear motion accuracy is also secured via low-coefficient Delrin sleeves wrapped around the rails and nestled inside the carriage.
COMMON SENSE MAINTENANCE
Maintenance is reduced to the occasional dirt removal with a damp cloth with no need for oil or any toxic chemicals. Lubricants of any kind are completely unnecessary. The MYT CURVI-GLIDE can also function in dirty environments including extremely hot, cold, dry and wet ones. Tolerances for rail compression and expansion in relation to atmospheric pressure changes are compensated for by our patented suspended state bearing technology. This technology has been proven on the field countless times over with our existing line of MYT Glides.
The possibilities made available to the operator of this new device are endless. He or she is free to think nodally in all directions simultaneously. The Vessel can be mounted vertically, horizontally, and diagonally at an angle. Not only does the MYT CURVI-GLIDE open a new realm of thinking in linear motion technology, it also allows filmmakers to ditch the tripod fluid head entirely.
