The new patent-pending custom bearings for the Large Glide camera slider are finally here! Fitted with a window above the wheel for easy cleaning and maintenance, each bearing is machined from one block of high grade aluminum to the tightest machining tolerances. Incredibly smooth, they are even better than our previous generation. Other changes include the drop from 5 bearings to 4, as we’ve integrated a new brake design. This brake is now located on the body of the bearings, and can be switched between the four units at will. These new bearings are a significant improvement, and now come standard on all our Large MYT slider dollies. They are also available as an upgrade to our existing clients at a reduced upgrade rate.

In the final stages of design, the MYT leg adaptor end caps are one accessory we have planned for quite some time but never got around to designing. They are finally here. Complementing our wooden end caps, the leg adaptor end caps allow for the use of our new rosette leg adapters. This is something operators have voiced interest in for some time. We hope and believe that this accessory will be worth the wait. The leg adaptor’s design is as simple as it gets, with an industry-standard 19mm bore that allows for any 19mm rods (including our rod extensions) to be used in any length at any angle. These new end caps will allow you to use our camera slider dollies at various heights, from tabletop to hip-height, over level or uneven terrain.

We are close to production, and hope to have these available by the end of June. Our current customers will benefit from an introductory rebate. We’ll be posting pictures very soon! Stay tuned.

We got a lot of amazing feedback on this new system at the NAB show a few weeks ago. Check out the video of our new camera jib prototype below!

This week, we finally completed the design and testing on the center column for the Velvet nodal camera head. The vertical ridigity factor is unbelievable and the panning displacement is working beyond our most optimistic expectations. The head’s strength and overall mechanical behavior suggests that we could be close to production and in line with our schedule. We still have to work out some parts for the damper, and we’ll definitely post more details very soon. If you missed it, check out the video of our Velvet head system here.

Check out this video of our awesome new MYT Paradox portable camera slider system. The package is 100% modular, which means that it can be disassembled into just a few small, light components. When you put it together, though, you can have track ranging in length from 1ft to 5ft, hence the name. This system is truly a paradox. Watch the video!

We just completed the final touches on the Paradox rail trusses. They are far more versatile and easier to use than the prototype we showed at NAB. We are also pleased to announce that the mounting options have multiplied. A significant new feature is the possible addition of independently adjustable legs on each truss. A straightforward folding pattern allows you to nest the legs against the truss for easy transport. This is a great accessory that will vastly multiply the array of potential mounting options.
